Just got ea_falcon to build me one of these babies... I'm breaking traction on the 1-2 shift!!!

Wicked fun... Doesn't sound good for the driveline though....

hey guys,

just put my shift kit in my pre smartlock eb2 and when i floor it it takes longer than it did stock to drop to first, its like it pauses for 1-2 secs then drops... once it eventually drops to first it works great, what could it be? could it be to do with the tps??

I love my shift kit but i have built mine so its not so harsh, just makes the shifts firm and fast!

on EF/EL ecus 18ohm and a 2.2OHM is PERFECT. i dont chirp in the dry with it, but i dont want to either, i got over it i chirped every change for 4 months no matter how i drove in my brown fairmont :P

RE BRRM BRRRM CARS...

My old man just freaks out whenever I mention anything to do with having to pull the bloody seats out again in order to get at the wires I left terminated under there for the laptop docking station to be hard wired in.

He gets even worse when I explain that the whole suspension has been removed and replaced by myself...!

I havn't bothered to tell him that the little blue translucent box with a paddle on the left foot rest tells the gearbox to change gear in a fraction of a second...

Was damn sure I got some real odd / interested looks from truck drivers and boy racers when I floored it in first and held it down until third up a long straight driveway to the wreckers this morning. At least - no one said anything but when I turned around to make sure the alarm had engaged there was more than one character paying undue attention to the thing. I suppose the noise it makes with the pod and the super quick gear changes is a little wierd from an old station wagon..... ;)

It's starting to sound like something it isn't --- a very fast car.

buddy go read the first page again. everything you need is there... if you cant read and work it out then people shouldnt be doing these mods...

did the mod today, much needed! there are times when otherwise the car just pauses in between gear changes and the car goes no where, the car actually as that much needed boot. going from 1 - 3 under 40kms is unplesant though, thats the only time when the gear changes are too rough. just a touch more on the soft side would make it perfect. the off setting gear changes are soft and smooth and it was really apparent after feeling them through the shift kit, not the type shifting you want if you're bootin it around everywhere ;)

Great mod -- Thanks Neds

Build Time: 1:30 hours
Cost: $15

Used 4 of each resistor cause I couldnt find any 10w's - works fine just as the diagram back a few pages shows it, cheers to the person who contributed that.
