Lol, i used a cigarette packet - so anything around that size would be fine.
Dont stress about the ECU wires. Make sure you've got the right wire - check 5 times and cut once, lol.

Other than that it should use the same resistors and the same setup. All done .... shift kit in and running great .... this is easy and cheep to do And it make a big difference What exactly is the difference it makes? |

It changes the gears in the auto a lot quicker and harder then normal ... with a switch you can have it on (quick change) or off (normal)... in the wet you need to turn it off or you get wheel spin in first second and third gears |

I'm planning to replace the 5ohm with a potentiometer to do this in my AU, but I'm having trouble finding the right part on jaycar's site (there's no jaycar close by to actually visit).
Can anyone point me in the right direction here at all please? |

Ok Guys, In relation to the 3 pronged switch, I would suggest you visit a speed shop and ask for the arming switch for a NOS Kit. This switch has 3 prongs, a built in LED to tell you it is on, and i modified my dash between the reardemist switch and the Power Antenna switch. The switch fits perfectly in the middle of these 2 and looks factory. It is a rocker type switch. Was going to mount it in the same place as one of my power window switches, but decided that i wanted to keep contol of all 4 power windows from the front

{USERNAME} wrote: well i put it in yesterday and can i say it shifts awesome now... thanks for the info it is the kind of stuff that ford users need...
which one of the two resistors controls the harder shift? if anything i would like it to shift just a little softer than it does which would be a good balance... is this really gonna be better for my auto etc? it kind of makes a bit of a squeal real quick when it goes into gear which is a bit scary... I get this same thing from i think the 2-3 gear change....just a quick squeal/squeak ??? any ideas anyone...only happens if you are giving it abit

You'd get a bit better professional finish with it though. I'm crap at electronics. BTW thanks for the link. |

BTW thanks for the link. Fair enough, and that's exactly why those guys exist. Not everyone can do it themselves, or can be bothered to. |
