pin 81 is allready there, you CUT it and one side goes to the resistor and then out the other side and continues.

both the green on that diagram is the SAME wire just cut

ok well replace my 83 with 38... you cut the wire and add the switch between it. they are both connected still

Huggiebear i know you got your shift kit to work in your NC, i was trying to install mine to day but i dont have a wire running out of the 38 pin socket in the ECU did you?

My car is a 1991 EB1 Fairmont, i had to put a smartlock module in so i could run the EL ECU to match my EL tickford engine i put in.

Could i put a wire in the 38 hole, as i did for the BBM solenoid switch and smartlock??

Hopefully i just made a mistake n its all there

Please anyone could you help me out

Cheers Clint :)

wait a second... your car will have both wires... if you dont your gearbox wouldnt work... i think you missed a wire there....

you cut that wire, intercept the signal as per diagram. If yours is an EL, then you need to find out what the wire is for your model, that i cant help you with

Ok still not quite sure (sorry im retarded), i gonna run a wire from the pin 81 (38 on EL's) to the resistors then the switch yeah? (im happy with that)
Wire 3 tho that connects to the other side of the 5.6Ohm resistor and then to the other side of the 81 wire which i dont have, thats why i asked you where the other side of the green 81 wire goes to? How can i cut the 81 wire when its the one i add?

Hmm... i wish i understood electronics

No fordfairmont, mies an EB series 1 running an EL tickford ECU, smartlock module etc. Some onesaid back on pade 1 i think that Pin 71 is pin 57 and pin 81 is 38 for EL, EF and AU's have more than 60 pins.

then to the other side of the 81 wire which i dont have

but you do have that wire!! :)

if your sure the wire from pin 38 on your EL ECU is the equivalant of pin 81 for the EF ECU then you just cut that wire and then you wire up both ends of your newly cut wire to the appropriate places

EDIT: just seen your last post, so you have to find the right pin for an EL ECU and also which is the right wire for an EB at the same time?

either way, the wire is there, you just cut it and use both ends as per diagram

See as neds said,

Just had a look at the diagram for El's. It looks exactly the same, except pin 71 is actually pin 57, and pin 81 is pin 38. Other than that it should use the same resistors and the same setup.

Ford Fairmont could you alter the diagram for me, i do know where or how to intercept the signal.

I have the red 71 (57) wire, YES!!!
just no 81 (38) wire

cant do a diagram cause it would look exactly like that one lol

Basically cut the wire coming out of the ECU (pin 38 or whatever is the equivalant of the EF wire)

Then solder wires 5 & 2 (which are wires that you add) to one side of the 5.6ohm resistor. Then run the other end of wire 5 to the middle switch and solder the other end of wire 2 to the ECU SIDE of the cut pin 38 wire

Then solder wires 3 & 6 to the other side of the 5.6ohm resistor. Then run the other end of wire 6 to the top switch, and solde the other end of wire 3 to the LOOM SIDE of the cut wire (which was connected to pin 38 before you cut it)
