From the diagram as far as i can work out this is the 'G' wire going to the solenoids.

What would happpen if i got the worng wire im a little worried about this now!!!!!!!!

Heres the auto trans wiring for an EF. Use the info from this diagram, plus the shiftkit diagram..... and see if you can find a similar wire to use for your car...... i hope this helps in some way

if you do the wrong wire you will either
A. blow a fuse (easy fix)
B. Blow the gearbox computer (i have 1 or 2 spare you can have)
C. melt the car down lol very unlikely as thats what fuses are for

Ok so i put it in jono522's EL fairmont ghia, it sucks it barely does any thing n i followed the diagram exactly. What resistors would be suitable to make it harder?? dont want to blow it!!

im using a 6.5 instead of the 5.whatever... mine shift really hard, if you dont notice it you either done it wrong or the gearbox was stuffed before you put it in

Hey yeh it works we took for a decent drive, its not firm enough so we'l put a 6.5 resistor in. It seems to change harder when you back off and thump it changes gear, its quiker in its changes. I like to put mine in but yeh still pondering..........

heres an idea for the guy with shift kits , replace the switch with a relay thats is switched by the bbm soliniod wire that way it will be auto off for criuse and on after 3800 rpm for drag

hate to burst your bubble, but the BBM has power untill 3800rpm which is when it cuts out so you would have shift kit while cruising and none while racing.

seems iffy...only because when i drive "slow" i change at about 2500...i would have the shift kit only on when WOT is on. But my shift kit is very soft so i leave it on 24/7

imo, ive done this mod and it did work well, but i have since replaced an auto from overheating (due to driving too hard with a high stall fitted), but none the less, a transmission is a very fiddley piece of complex machinery, much more than just any engine. Any gain that is to be had from this mod is not worth the risk of needing to replace it prematurely.

Not to mention the fact that wires can come lose, it will more than likely need to be removed at some point, in the wet you can lose your traction and that is is not comfterable for yourself or passengers.

lol, not to mention that the transmission, like any part of a car, is balancing many things against each other. Like in a manual, you may be able to shift in .1 of a second but the sycro's are not designed to be shifted that fast, so you are actually not getting anywhere any faster at all..

Im no expert, but i do know a bit about a few things and this is (amongst the other 100 modification options) not an avenue worth considering unless you have a spare transmission that you dont mind having to throw in if you f**k your current one.

:)
