im only able to presume

are my above presumtions correct?
all i need is a yes or no

i attempted to install this 2day, now 1 light in my dash dont work, the trip computer dont work, and the dash wont re-align, at this stage, the shift kit goes in the bin

I made mine. I used 22ohm and 1 ohm resistors, uses the same wiring diagram for 6cyl with the switch to turn it on or off. I will quote wires from the back of the plug where the wires come out and is the larger of the two plugs from the trans controller module near hand brake under dash. Look for a light green wire on retaining clip side of plug l/h side (variable pressure solenoid)and cut it about 3cm back from plug, connect cut wires to 1ohm resistor either side of course, this should also go to the switch refer to diagram. and the 22ohm resistor goes to the yellow wire(strip wire back and solder in wire from 22ohm resistor), yellow wire is on same plug, opposite side from retaining clip, r/h side 2nd wire inwards, 12volt. from 22ohm resistor your wiring should go to switch in diagram. Hope this helps.

The wires i quoted you are just the colours i told you, single colour, they dont have any trace colours, the plug i quoted is the longer of the two plugs. Make sure you have the right control box because the body control module is under the dash in similar place under the dash on mine, body control has a plastic housing.

hey mate, i think they are different colours because of the different model,
could you please tell me what number wires they are starting from the top (the top being the end not next to the smaller of the 2 plugs)

ie: count the wires down from the top on the left, and the same on the right, so say, left pin 4 and right pin 7

i think i know 1 of the wires, the yellow one that is 2nd from the end, its a red wire no matter which side its on for me,
but im very unsure about the green wire...

sorry about this,

and yea, i know about the body control module, i thought that was it the very first time i did it

If you look at the plug from the wires outside (where the wires come out of the plug) with the plastic clip on the plug that holds the plug into the control module facing away from you, the green wire (to solenoid) is on L/H top (there are no wires on the opposite side, three vacant holes for wires). The outher wire (yellow)12v is 2nd from right on bottom side of plug closer to you, you may need to confirm wire colours with a auto electrician or a ford dealer, make sure they are correct, good luck.

shift kit went in 2day, works great!

just 2 things that iv noticed,
when the kit is on, it seems less responsive, but shifts MUCH harder,
when i have my foot to the floor, and i shift at 3,000 rpm, it wont shift till around 4,500...
iv done it like that once and afterwards i could smell something burning...

is it possible the tranny is slipping constantly with this on?

when i turn it off, the car works perfectly, like it was never there,

im wondering if on of the resistors might need to be altered?

i used a 22 ohm and a 1 ohm...

also, for those of you doing this to a v8, read the last 2 pages worth,
the conversation between me and micklane explains exactly what to do,
use the 6 cyl diagram at the start of this thread, but the wires go to the trans controller right up near the brake light switch,
also, the green wire was the same on my car, but the yellow was RED with a yellow trace,
but still in the same position (2nd from the top, green wire is opposite corner of plug, 3 empty pins next to it)

cheers for the help, and i hope this summery helps others since no one else felt like taking the time to actually type a fully summery like this down, and the forum referenced in the first few pages no longer exists...

Have you got it in power mode?, when your foot is on the floor it has kick down on and will hold gears to near red line on tacho, the smell is probably because you gave it a flogging, you may have some oil leaks and is burning this oil off exhaust maybe. It is supposed to go back to standard when you turn it off. The resistors will be fine. Mine performs better with it turned on as it shifts harder (faster changes) and feels great.
