Not that I know of but I have young people get in my car and I dont want them goin OH what is that flick and causing an accident or worse tranny damage. But as far as legality or insurance goes I dont think so.

Next step is probably a nice exhaust or stage 2 stereo.

WooHoo, put in shift kit this morning, what a gem of a mod, best $10 I ever spent on a mod. Took a mate for a wrap and he is quite impressed. To all those sceptics out there DO IT, JUST DO IT!!!!

Nice spot.
Although I reckon the best spot is under the ashtray on the centre console. Hidden and accessible when driving.

Is there a reason we should be hiding our shift kit button?

I would suggest that maybe Mr Plod might see it ask what it is and maybe defect your car for it depending on his mood.
Better not to draw attention to mods that effect performance/safety unless its been certified. But thats just me being over cautious. Besides both my cars are manual.
