Thats the kit I have, it feels like someone is giving you a shove from behind when it changes gears. A fairly firm shift, spins the wheels so be careful and I dont recommend using it in wet weather. You notice the difference but I see it more as gimmick really. (but i still flick mine on sometimes!!!! :D )

Yeh cheep, but if over used with lots of throttle, maybe rebuild your gearbox sooner or do that all important respray while you have the car repaired after going sideways into some street furniture in the wet :)

Cheers.

If you read on

www.shiftkits.com.au

they say the totally opposite and come in at $95 for like a two stage one with the ability to turn it on and off aswell. Its a shady area, maybe ask your local transmission place what they think first.

Cheers

if u have a read on the www.shiftkits.com.au they actually say that the shift kit increases life of the auto trans... here is a cut and paste from the site...

The module alters the signal the engine / transmission control unit provides to the transmission to control the line pressure. By slightly increasing the line pressure, the transmission changes harder from one gear to the next. This not only reduces heat generated within the clutches and bands in the transmission, but also will increase transmission life and reduce wear.

yeh iit just reduces the time spent on the friction point...

so from what ive read it will be less smooth but it will be slightly faster.....

infact im probably better off just doing a t5 conversion or some s**t?

T5 conversion would be better, but 100 times the cost, your looking at like a grand+. Were shift kit is 10 bucks... Even if you plan on doing the conversion sometime in the future, for only 10 bucks the shift kits fun to play with until tehn!
