Just had a look then I like the adjustable one you can make it as soft or hard as u like cheers mate do they make a difference would u put one in

Ive also got one on my el and I think its a good little mod. Makes the car feel firmer and a tad more responsive. Follow the instructions that come with it and it should be a simple install.
It firms up the shifts even on the lowest setting and can chirp the tyres on the highest. Can be a bit dangerous in the wet though. (Put my foot down to beat the traffic when i was turning onto the highway, the car randomly kicked down and lost traction...) It can be good for your gear box as it reduces the slippage of the clutch bands when changing gear, meaning less wear. But it can also be bad, for your gearbox and your diff with the constant jerking of the shift kit. Thats only if you always have it on full though. All in all, if you want one, get one. |

I had one fitted to my ED for something like 5 years before I converted to manual - and after the conversion the kit stayed hooked up to the ECU for another 6 years before I pensioned the car off - and it never hurt the transmission or the ECU. Keep in mind it was still hooked up all that time after I converted to manual even tho it was no longer doing anything as such - I mention that because I seem to recall people saying that they can fry the ECU if left hooked up and turned on whenever the car is running - so u should turn them on only when needed. Is NOT true - mine was wired to be on with ignition.
- and yes they're worth it but pay heed to the warnings about losing it in the wet - can be very dangerous to have too firm a shift when a lot of torque is being put thru (think snatchy clutch in a manual) - I'm about to get an adjustable one again for my EF. Oh, and I just read the magazine article that Shiftkits Aus links to - excellent info for fitting - but by popping the glovebox out (just open it and lift it away) in E series you get a heap more room and access
