Due to some problems with my car, if I am stranded without a clutch is it destructive to drive without using the clutch if done correctly?
What is the correct procedure to do this?

Its fairly easy to change without the clutch... do this in one swift movement... pull out of gear as you lift off throttle, give it a small rev and as the revs come down slip it into gear
I drove an ex's daewoo accros sydney that way, even turned it off at the lights and started driving with the ignition key! It had no clutch as it was totally rooted |

I had to drive the corolla without the clutch when the master cylinder failed on me one day.... that was interesting

So as long as you match the revs and let it slip in rather than forcing it, it wont damage anything?

it aint good for too long, but for a short distance, (like until you can get it somehwere to fix it) it won't do any damage

Dont do it with a cold engine : Its just not friendly.
Once the engine is warm though : Make sure you are anticipating everything : That means lots of room between you and next person etc. You often forget that you dont have a clutch and just standing on the brake does work, but the engine will try not to stall on you. Put car in 1st, and turn key. If your in a good place, the car will kick straight into life and you can drive away. You just have to be carefull about picking neutral : If you do that, and you get the car speed too low you will have to stop the car and engine before you can get going again. |
