Got a Lukey catback and SS CAI installed yesterday and the bloke reckons i need new shocks because my car bounces around a bit (4 bounces to get back to normal)
A few qs 1) is it really that important? 2) is 400 fitted a good price? 3) lowered shocks? advantages/disadvantages? Thanks for taking the time.

Good shocks are really important, to control car movement. 400 fitted-if it includes supply is an excellent price. Fit lowered shocks if you have or intend to lower-that way you still get full shock movement, without hitting the bump stops inside them.

1, YES shocks are important 2, for all 4 supplied and fitted a damn good price 3,if the car is lowered u will need lowered shocks

shocks are very important as they basically force the wheel back onto the road when driving
400 fitted is a great price as i paid 220 for struts and 100 for rears parts only, and that was for cheap monroes |

yes extremely important... i paid 30 bucks each for my rear shocks brand new from supercheap off the shelf, 12 months on and on superlows and still not 1 issue from them. the fronts are the only ones that will give you issues. rear take 10 minutes to change.

we all know shocks actually suck the road to the car.. cmon people common sence! Poor shock = poor road suction.
your shocks effect your bump and bound, Ie bad shocks your car wil ride like a boat, bouncing along to road, body rolls through corners and so on. shocks will tighten all of this back up again, got some road suction going on.

The the spring forces the wheel back down. The shocks (properly called 'dampers') are there to control the spring from bouncing around (like a spring does). It dampens the spring.
They play an important part in keeping the wheels on the ground (by preventing bounce).

question, i just got new wheels, 18"s from my 15" turbo blades, i know i need new shocks, but my exhaust has really started to knock under the car since the wheels, im guessing as there is less sidewall, so would the new shocks also stop that from happening?

depends whats making the exhaust knock... id say new exhaust mounts. they are about 5 bucks each.

yea thats what i was thinking, but the exhaust has only been on the car for a few months, gonna change it anyway, as it was hanging with out extractors for a week or 2, while i got new ones. so i think it might have stretched it out. also can some one recommend a decent front shock that will go with my monroe sensa trac that ill be putting into the rear?
