Hi Guys

I have gotten a quote for 4x Monroe GT Sport Shocks supplied and installed, wheel alignment and one of the springs is getting pulled out and put back in due to it not sitting right all for $750 cash.

Keeping in mind they are charging $330 per pair for the shocks and I think the wheel alignment is about $40.

Just wondering if this is a good deal?

Cheers

Phil

Honestly I would say its a bit exxy, but its seriously not hard work to do it yourself.
On the w/e just gone I had the rear springs/shocks out of my daily for some choppin, would have only taken 1 hour to get both out, chopped and back in. And no it wasnt bodgy stylez, just one coil off standard springs to get the car sitting flat.

Those shocks are on ebay atm, for about, which coincidentally isnt working for me atm... but I think all 4 shocks are about $350.
As for fixing the spring, fronts come out with the shock anyway, and the rears are a piece of piss to get at or move when the cars up and the wheels off.

i think you have your prices wrong.

there is no way any one will fit a set of shocks for $50.
I'd say $330 for all four shocks $40 for the W/A labour seems high though. they are charging just over 4 hours. really should only take 3.

Nah the prices are definatly right 330 a pair and i want 4 whichs $660, the thing is there is probably a markup on the shocks so they are actually making more than 50 bux for labour

cheers

Fronts may be 330, but rears should be half that.

I'd be asking for a written quote. it doesn't make sence.

Here is the quote I got from one of the places that advertises on eBay cvjointaust@yahoo.com.au

Quote:
I have ED Falcon superlower shock and spring for sedan in stock :
front cost $280.00.
Rear cost $270.00.installation cost around $200.00.

That is for shocks and springs. They are in Auburn.

I picked up a set of 4 KYB blacks from Coventry's for $294 for the 4 shocks. They seem like an excellent OEM replacement.
