Hi gang,
I need a bit of help selecting new shocks for my car. I'm after a set that will just work well, they dont need to be high performance or the like. - 92 EBII sedan - to suit either King Low or Standard ride height (reason for the above is that Im considering going to the 'king low' setup, but would like to retain the option to go back to standard if need be and keep the new shocks in place) Im assuming this type of setup possible. Monroe ? By the way, I need to meet ALL NRMA insurance criteria, particularly "fully captured". Just one or two suggestions, with spec names/types would be OK. My brain goes funny when there are too many choices. Many thanks |

I can't say anything other than the bilsteins but yeh not as cheap as the konis and arent adjustable but an excellent shock....bout $592 per side for the front so arent on the cheap side...ive got em and the handling is incredible with king superlows.

im just running monroe gt gas shocks in my el xr6, which runs the equivalent of a 'low' springs anyway, and i have no problem with them, they ride really well, front and rear installed for $500, and would get tham again.
im pretty sure they actually came out new with monroes...

For your purpose - ie. decent shocks at decent price that don't have to be expensive performance ones I would solidly recommend KYB - they are THE choice as OEM replacements IMO.
Now, you COULD try Gabriel VST's which to be blunt will give you almost as good performance as Bilsteins (yes you read that correctly) and are from memory VERY cheap - BUT I think Gabriels may have problems with not lasting very well - they certainly used to - maybe things have improved??
