hey guys.

im looking to buy a shortshifter, billet or ripshift.
i want to change the height on the shaft.

i want a gear stick that is ALOT shorter, like the BA-BF or even the VE shifters.
how would you go about getting it like that?

Hacksaw.
I've done this to a few cars, i wouldn't do it to mine though, center console to shifter sit at a perfect height for comfortability.

If you can handle the wait, get a UPR off eBay US, comes with the extreme adjustable shaft, and they're a s**t load cheaper than the Billets and RipShifts - under $200.00 AUD including Registered Post.

They've got the positive stops and spring loaded.

if you just want to shorten the gear stick itself (as well as the short shifter) maybe try and get hold of a BA gear stick. its about an 1" or so shorter than the the EF/EL one.

thats what i've got in mine, t sits perfectly in your hand in 2nd and 4th, but isnt too long a reach on 1st, 3rd and 5th. still looks quite long though! damn ef consoles being so low.

I've got a shortened BA XR6 shifter in my car and its just about perfect for shifting.
