Hey just got a quick few questiong regarding short throw shifters in e series falcons.
1- is it possible to install with box in car or is it box out.
2- what are people opinions on the cheap eBay kits compared to the name brands and what do you suggest.
3- does it work with standard gearboot and knob?
Thanks :)

1. Yes they can be installed without touching the box, but if its too tight you can undo the crossmember and lower it down for a bit more hand room.

2. I bought one for 110 dollars or so, didn't have any specific brand on it, works fine.

3. The normal gearboot will be fine, but the rubber thing underneath the gearboot might need modifications to fit around the shifter. Also it will likely have an M12 thread, standard knob has M10.

Spend a little extra and get an MGW shifter.
Best one out there by far.

Thanks everyone, I've never driven a car with a short shift fitted. Are the a lot better then the standard or a bit of a wank?

Hey there. Have had one in for years and 100,000km's. Same one, never replaced. $130 option years ago. Very similar now for sale $100.

Fits top of standard T5. Shifter knob requires some work as threads may be different.
