I had the same problem i cut two coils but it didnt go much lower and was very bumpy, so i repositioned the upper control arms (xr6's have extra holes, no drilling required :) ) then i fitted a set of shortened shockers (2 inches shorter) and then cut all bumper stops. this did wonders with ride height being low and the spring still having travel and not at all bumpy. some may debate thats its too low i say ther no such thing as too low

first time i have uploaded a pic hopefully it works.

When it was still registered...

KingSprings Low and Koni Yellow adjustable shocks all round. The rear does sit lower than it should, probably because of the extended shock tower and custom boot install. I had issues with clearances in the rear when fully laden, definitely not road worthy.

EDIT: A better view.

looks nice. about the ride height im after. ply-boi's combo is probably what im going to go for. I like the look of them when the front is slightly lower. Im asuming the height isnt adjustable with the 'Koni Yellow adjustable shocks'??
heres mine at the moment.. could be mistaken for a 4x4..

That is sitting rather high...that's definitely not stock ride height. The EF/EL naturally have the front lower than the rear, so if you plan on lowering it, get the same ride height springs all round and it should be slightly angled forward.

Also you are correct regarding the Koni Yellow adjustables. They are only for dampening changes.

I am pretty sure the suspension is the same for Fairlane and Falcons. So if you can find coil overs for a Falcon, they would fit a Fairlane. I'm not 100% sure though, might need to check with others or call up suspension specialist.

Thanks. The reason its sitting so high is because the engine is out. Pretty sure its all standard at the moment. I'll have a chat to the local suspension guys and hope they can help. I'll post when i find out.
Cheers
