Could it be a broken engine mount?

Well did some research and called ford and milked them for all i could. They recon it sounds like the torque converter is f****d. about $700 to replace. good try ford! took the car down to ALLSTATES AUTOMOTIVE TRANSMISSIONS at their request and they are pretty sure it is not the torque converter and is engine related. The engine dos'nt seem tho miss so i doubt it is the coil pack. My understanding is if the front engine mounts are stuffed they collapse and destroy the rubber insulating pad. My pads are in tact and the mounts look ok. My mechanic took it for a drive and recons the rear engine mount on the trans is ok. He recons he has seen several ef's that have this vibration and i will never find the cause. His solution: "Turn up the stereo and crank the bass and forget about it" Ill find a new mechanic next week. Any one that knows a good one that dosent charge an arm and a leg id love to know. Im in Woodville SA. I have also checked the idle and it is ok.

Not sure if there is any other method but feel around behind it for a bit of rubber hanging out from the back of it. When they are stuffed the rubber seal slowly moves away and peels out from underneath. Also grab it at 2 and 7 o' clock and see if there is any movement in it.
