Hi All,

Im considering putting slotted or slotted and cross drilled rotors on me EL Falcon and contacted my insurance conpmay and they said as long as the RTA as fine with it we are too but you have to let us know so we can add it to the policy.

Now my question is are they LEGAL? and same with braided hoses to replace brake lines?

Thanks in adavnce

Never heard brake upgrades being illegal. You should be ok.

I am sure the slotted brakes are fine as long as the brakes are up to ADR standards...which I believe they are considering they are being sold.

Braided brake lines may require an engineering certificate to prove that it is up to ADR standards. I bought a set from Hightek brakes and they came with a certificate for a road worthy certificate as well as insurance companies.

Though I may be wrong since I am from Victoria.

Good point as there on the shlef being sold in Auto parts stores so they must be ADR approved.

Ill look into the braided lines as well and see if i need to get an engineers certificate. If i do then its not worth it but if they comply and only need to provided a certificate from of the supplier then its all good.

I got DBA Slotted rotors with Bendix Ultimate Pads and a full set of braided brake lines from Hightek Brakes for just over $500 including delivery. Comes with new brake fluid and a certificate stating that the braided lines are ADR certified.

So expect the 4000 series to be dearer as well as delivery to you in NSW.

Not sure about phongus, but i have the DBA 4000 Wiper slotted on mine and EBC greenstuff, and i havn't been in a e-series that has pulled up as quick as mine yet. There so smooth and they can take alot of heat

Well the new discs made a great difference, mainly because my old front ones were warped and wobbling like a mofo. All I can say really is that the car stops without vibrations and it does stop much much better then before. The only thing I found annoying is the squeaking of the brakes at certain pedal pressures and speeds. Was told the Ultimate pads have a tendency to do that...will be trying Greenstuff later on like Gezza has.

Pedal travel is the same but car stops quicker.

Though before you go out and buy stuff, I haven't installed the braided brake lines yet so I can't say anything about the braided brake lines helping stopping time, but I am sure it will.

Yea the greenstuff are really good, the brake dust is bad though. I doubt you will get as many k's out of them as the Bendix Ultimates aswell.
