I'll get canned for this but.........
Live in the hills hence long light brake application.........hence gas and dust wobbles coming through the steering wheel and pulsing peddle........ Talk about give you the s**t... I deemed it unsafe.... I realized that the disc's were ok checked run out with a dial indicator (a hang over from years in a Machine shop) and all else checked ok.. Got a new set of Ferrodo's (I now have brown wheels, for those that would ask) and now for the clincher..... a thin cut off wheel for the angle grinder....... STD disc's, with slotted pads, cheaper and easier.....dont go silly with the grinder and a steady hand. I dont go through down to the metal backing plate I leave about 3-5mm, so when they wear down to there I get my symptoms back and know it's time to go to the parts store again..... Cheap and easy....and brakes with bite Wobbles, pulsing peddles, long wonky braking distance.........all history.... I dont drive it hard often but when I do, much sharper brake response...... |

thats something i use to do with my old valiant and cortina,
it helps get rid of dust and hot gasses that build up between the pad and disc.. |
