If i acquire rear springs/shocks out of an NL fairlane with SLS suspension, and get my own compressor/s, could i put that in my ef? reason being is the ride is pretty ordinary when it's got a full tank and a full cabin, and it wouldn't be a bad idea, as i can get hold of the SLS stuff for nothing.
Any thoughts?

I can't see any reason why you couldn't do it.
You wouldn't need to change springs, just the shocks. You wil also need the SLS ECU (mounted to the body above the diff) and the connecting arm that runs from the ECU to the Watts link, plus the wiring that runs from the ECU to the compressor/dryer (mounted behind the front right hand wheel). The ECU has an output for a warning light in the cluster and also connects to the door switches, so you will need to add this or bypass somehow. There is also a relay in there somewhere (engine bay?) to switch the compressor on/off.

i think you've misunderstood what my aim is.
i'd get my own compressor, but use the shocks so i could manually control my ride height via an on/off/on switch (up/off/down).

SLS in the fairlane is a pretty troublesome heap of junk, i wouldnt bother LOL!
Plus they make car very sloppy/soft.

Sorry, I just assumed you were getting all the SLS hardware. No matter - what you propose would be easier to install and would work OK, although you would want to have a way of letting air out from inside car (with a valve and solenoid setup?).
As Daniel intimated, the problem with "pump-ups" is that they tend to make the car ride more like a boat. One thing to note is that if your car is lowered and you wish to "dump it" at times those shocks will probably bottom out over bumps.

Why not just a set of Monroe or someother brand air shocks that you can just pump up//et down as you want?
