after dragging 2 of my mates stock vp and vn commodores and them killing me in the take of untill i hit about a 100 when i romp past them i think i need to put some higher ratios in the a*** end i was thinkin 3.7s would anybody now ho much this will ruffly cost? and if any body can do it in s.a let me now its ither manual or putin sum gears in which ever is cheaper
its just stressing me how sluggish the take of is

your gearbox is probly slipping from slamming it into 1st lol, but yeah 3.7 would make it take off hard as

lol maybe nahh i dont think the gear box is slipping although it might be i do get a bit of a mise some times in take off with full throtal but i think its my diff an lsd that has worn out and it swaps wheel to wheel

just go T5.
cost around $400-500 for parts if you hunt, then sell auto gearbox and s**t get a few hundred back and find some mates who can install it and in around a day or so doing it your first time (less if you have air tools and a pit/hoist) and you will demolish those VN's

i paid 200 for a set of 4.11s and the housing without axles will fit in the boot of a fairmont ef

Probably looking at ~$1200 for just the gears or ~$1800 with LSD fitted.

If your driving an EA though, and your 17 so that's fair enough, but this is probably more then the car is worth, so you might want to look at second hand or diy (it's not cheap to get someone else to do it for a reason though).

i paid $1500 for a set of new 3.73:1 gears installed with a spool.
