And as far as I am aware, only the EL/NLs had the speed sensitive steering. The ECU also needs to be able to control it, which the EF/NF ones can't.

From what I have read from various well known people on the mods that the v8's don't have them only the inline six have the sensors..

EL V8's DID have an optional Speed sensing Rack and it is different from a 6 cyl. You can still buy the rack re-manufactured from Ford but WAY too expensive @ $840.00.

Another great thread on a great Forum!
I need a reco rack for my NC 5.0.

In 10 mins searching this forum, i've found the info and possible fixes for at least 5 other problems on the 'Barge!
Thankyou!

Picked up the new (reco) rack last weekend from the Gold Coast!
Even the missus cat likes it!

My Fairlane has the usual 'shudder' under brake and tired shocks routine..
I'm gonna take photo's and document the repair for future reference for Fordmods.com members.

It should save time and money.
It's a 91 NC 5 litre with 240k on it.

Regards
Dave

the shudder you have under brakes is caused by you rotors being warped you can get them machiend if they arent to thin to get one, but if your doing hard braking your better of going for some slotted of dba there not that dear and while your going check your calliper slides as they could have excessive play which would cause the calliper slide to kick sidways with the braking forces and it wont slide properly or not at all give them a good clean and grease if ok

Thanks 54!
The discs are slotted, i'll have them machined this wednesday (or replaced if needed).

The rack had to be replaced (i'll upload a pic of the dead one during the week)
