Get a two-piece shaft made up and install the T5 manual. The auto's aren't made for high speeds.

I have mine past 240 regularly at eastern creek, alloy xr tail shaft, no whip, should probably get a tailshaft loop installed. chris you only have about 4km'h more carry at turn 1 oran park than me.. but then you are driving a fat a** GT-P, I take it you are talking about the GP and not the short course.

Yeah the full course. Getting the GT-P up turn 11 is a slow task, and ruins the main straight.

Still good for 1:25 laps (as fast as the V8SC's in the wet).

Yeh the east/west front wheel drive setup on magnas mean they dont have tailshafts.
Ive done the same 200+ in my old's 97 magna, after i brought her back down and was taking off from some lights, the drive to the wheels failed in a big crack and had to get my mate too tow me home. smelt like fkin a** too :( .
All the above was when i was a f**k idiot back then, and no, havent gone over about 130km/h since :P Even with an XR with alloy tailshaft.

I know i wouldn't be thinking about taking my rev or speed limiter off anytime soon. 183km/h is fast enough for me

are they ef tail shafts the same accross the series because my mates gli starts shaking like crazy at about 160kmph but my xr6 is smooth and hits the speed limiter at 180kmph smoothly. why is this both are in good condition and both are manual????????

simple things like a flat spot generate a resonance at higher speeds. my ef has f**k front tyres from a camber problem, and theyre hell noisy and vibrate the steering wheel at 100km/h but at 160 (race conditions) its smooth as.
mine's also a gli manual.

ive herd of heaps of wrx snapping their tailshafts, mostly on take offs.
the alloy tail shaft ford uses does the job but can fail eaisly if abused. so no going past 180km/h
