My question is, what is a spin resistant diff? is it just a beefed up single wheeler or Ford's way of making LSD sound fancy?

I ask because the EB needs a new diff and a mate is wrecking a 4 speed EA Fairmont Ghia and it has this diff in it. the other thing is what, typically, should be the ratio in a EA Fairmont Ghia with a 4 speed auto? it doesn't have the tag.

cheers

I thought it was just another name for a LSD? Ratio, I have a number 3.23 in my head, dunno why.

Won't be 3.45 unless it's been changed.

Cheers

thats what i was thinking. i had one wheel in the air, out of gear, handbrake off and tried to turn it. would not budge. and i'm thinking if it was a legger it'd spin over piss easy

Yeah I reckon it'd be a 3.23 as well.

Spin resistant is just an LSD.

The diffs only get single spinners, LSD's or hydratrack's in those outback utes and maybe the EL GT's?.

There arent any other factory options.

KAAZ, lokka, spools and trutracs are the aftermarket options.

My manual is a 3.27 as found out when I put the Lokka in... I thought the auto's would have been 3.08's or there abouts :?

Cheers,
Tim

then how come when you spin say the left hand wheel forward the right hand goes in the same direction? doesn't that mean it's a LSD
and if i grab a line locker in a controlled environment it always twins up

Is your eb a series 1 or 2? Might need the Tailshaft and control arms too.

it's a series1 but had the 4 speed so the tailshaft is the same. it has a series2 diff in it now. just had to put spacers in the lower control arms
