The thrust bearing has light pressure on it to keep it in contact with the PP - this is when the pedal is up. The spring on the clutch pedal performs this, the spring also reduces rattling.
I would think the thrust bearing should be fine - if it's new. If it had issues, I would think it would be noisey all the time.

It sounds like my pedal needs to be adjusted down very slightly then. I only need to touch it (a couple of mm) and the squeak stops.
How do I go about adjusting it?

where the clutch cable comes through the firewall in the engine bay, near the break booster, the clutch cable will have thread and bolt on there, you need the wind the bolt down the thread, ie away from the engine. you can pull lightly on the cable the bring it away from the firewall a bit without risk of damage. depending on how high your pedal sits, you may need to turn alot or a little.. just neve to experiment with it.

The pedal was measured today and it's right on 140mm. I'll play with the nut though and see if it makes any difference. Cheers
