I know where it is. can someone pls explain what exactly it does and how it works with higher stalls and power etc... thinking of doing a manual conversion just cheking all my options first. Thanx guys

A high stall converter allows you to hold the rev's on stall higher than normal,so when you line up for a race you hold brake and then start stalling up the converter with the accel pedal once you stall it up to almost braking traction you then release the brake and plant your foot down on the gas!
good if you want to drag at the strip!

Yes and theres a little more to it than that.
People think that a 3 grand stall means the car wont move anywhere until it hits 3 grand, not the case. Generally means the stall lets the motor rev more freely to the desired stall, kinda like feathering the clutch in a manual. So if your cam is making peak power at 3000 rpm, then a 3000rpm stall will let the motor reach 3000 rpm's alot faster letting it run in the 'sweet spot' when you put your foot down. I hope thats correct...... |
