last week ford machined my brake discs because of the pulsating when braking, and they are just putting in my new diff now, and just rang me to tell me one rotor is cracked slightly (how they didnt see that when machining it i dont know) and apparently 1 standard rotor at the back is $237!!!!!

a set of slotted DBA rotors is $240 for the back isnt it?

was i quoted the right price from ford or do you think they were trying to pull my leg?

which rotor is cracked?

if it is still under warranty after they machine the front rotors if there is still a pulse they should replace both discs.

one of the rears. there is no more pulse tho thats all fixed they just said theres a slight crack in the rear rotors when they were putting the diff back in.

they said they would do it for parts cost only because they had it all apart anyway to get the diff out

get your facts and mechanic knowledge right mate.

if the machine the front rotors and theres still a shudder, than new discs wont fix it unless they did a bodgy skim. Shudder can come from the rear discs as well, on any car, and often does.
The best way to tell? Put a dial guage on the rotors and spin before machining any of them.
