Time for a new or good used complete column as the bearing is not serviceable.

Second Luthor's post,
I replaced my whole column as the bearing had disappeared, don't know how and it was a quick fix. I was lucky I had a donor car so I didn't even try to fix it. Cheers, Paul

The bearing in question is replacable. Its a plate that screws to the firewall with a bearing that slides over the steering column. This bearing is in a plastic casing that can pivot on the plate depending on the steering wheel height. As far as i know its only available from Ford. I know this because ive replaced mine on the EL before. The steering column does not have to be replaced just removed to fit the firewall/steering colum bearing.

What model are we talkin about here??? EA to ED are different to EF/EL.
The EF/EL have a pivot plate and the EA to ED do not. I have several recoed column units, with new, better bearings in place. They are $150 each + P&H. They suit EA to ED. PM me if your interested.

We are talking about an EB here so the bearing is not replacable.
