G'day, the steering column in my car is on an angle, the right side has a gap of about 20mm and the left side is touching the dash.
here's a couple of pics: I don't think the steering column plastic casing is broken or on an angle or anything. The steering wheel always goes to the left side a bit too (to about the angle it is in the photo), even after having a steering alignment. My steering rack is leaking too, I've got a replacement from a car I'm wrecking, while I'm putting that in are there any oter steering parts that I can replace to fix this problem? The car I'm wrecking has all the bits and the steering column in that one is centered. My car was in an accident before I bought it, I don't think it was too major though. Basically I want to know what would cause it and what I'd neet to fix it. Cheers

hi
if you undo the lower column shroud there are 2 nuts holding the column to the dash. just loosen them a little and move the column across and tighten the nuts up.. |
