hey guys i just put my car on ramps 2day because i had a suspicion it was leakin some fluid, hitting the cat n burning, now that i was able to scope it out it seems like im leaking powersteering oil from either one of the hoses near the steering rack joint (all the way down to below the engine is dry) but the drivers side steering rack boot is coated in oil, and it seems to be dripping from that area?
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, the car is an eb series 2. Cheers, Greg

its quite possible its the power steering pressure switch, theyre a quite common place to leak. best bet is to degrease it all and go for a short drive
and then come back and look... |

IE - full left - full right - full left - full right - back to middle. If its leaking out the switch, you will see straight away. If it does not appear to be coming out of the switch then check the Pinion(where steering shaft connects to rack) there is a seal there as well. Failing that, peal back the drivers side boot(from the rack end), if oil spills out of there(any oil watso ever) then your internal seals have shot throu and will need to replace rack. The switch is very very common on all i6 Falcons. I have a couple lying around from previous jobs, they are not brand new, ut your welcome to have them, also s**t of o-rings to suit as well. Let me know how you go and if you want them.
