I have a new noise that started tonight. My EF Fairmont is falling apart now at 194,000.
In the last month I've had: - Blown radiator - Head gasket has a small leak - Power steering on the way out Now this new noise. When the rear wheel is loaded a bit going over a small bump, I hear a sound that can be best described as something which is wound up, and is then released which makes an unwinding sound which ends in a very faint knock. I can't imagine what could be causing a sound like that. The shocks and springs are original, done the same amount of k's. Any ideas? |

since all original i would say
there is a worn suspension bush somewhere more than likely a shock bush

Shock mounts are a very common thing and can send a good thud or rattle through the vehicle have had a few cars with them go
