Shouldn't need to touch the t5 with that power mate.

from what I remember after reading a fair bit...you wouldn't have to worry up until 200rwkw or something. Along the lines of 250rwkw...
I'm running close to 150rwkw with a standard EF T5 that had done 170000km on it before I got my hand to it. phong =P~

I got lucky, but had to drive for 3 hours to get it. You can get complete conversion kits for about $500ish (no ECU) if you're lucky. Not sure what standard price is these days for conversions, but I wouldn't pay more then $1000 for one. phong =P~

djcustomcomputing wrote: how much could i sell the auto conversion for out of curiosity the autos in very good order IIRC, I sold mine for $220 or something. It was still in perfect working order, just needed an oil change. Transmission had done about 160000kms or so. I am unsure as to pricing now though. I'd say at a guestimate, $200 - 250 for quick sale, $300 - 350 for standard sale rate, $400 - 500 if you have patience. phong =P~

I know theres a place in the US that sells rebuild kits on eBay, http://stores.ebay.com.au/THE-GEAR-BOX not sure if its strengthening or not but they'd be worth a look if you're rebuilding as i'm about to do

It is a good idea to swap the tailshafts to a manual one, nearly all the auto tailshafts one have this great big (round balancer like a harmonic balancer) where the shaft goes into the box, I don't know what its called, or why its there .... and its funny, not all cars had it??? thats what gets me,
I've never seen a standard manual falcon come out the factory with one of those balancers on the shaft. all i know is, if that balancer moves or gets damaged, your tail shaft is going to bounce away inside your gearbox, and it will stuff the metal bush in the extension housing! just what i've learned from work. Laticia. phongus wrote: djcustomcomputing wrote: also what model boxes fit in an au? and do i need a tailshaft That I am not sure, I will leave that for someone else ... phong =P~

Wagons have the same size as Manuals, most likely because of the length of the tail shaft and its for noise and vibration suppression. Also most T5's have a Steel weight on the bottom of the box too.

Im not sure then, I guess when im at work taking out boxes out of falcons, i never really bother looking to see if they have a balancer bar
I've got two other cars here, a auto ED that does not have one, and a manual EB2 that does not have one, they are both factory 5spds, well, the cars are not here, they are down at work ... laticia.
