Next time I might get a genuine Ford clutch cable and see if there's a difference in life. Time to check the Gearbox / Clutch plate now me thinks. Genuine cables haven't been available for some time. It helps to have lube on the cable end point, and you made need to go through the whole thing....g'box snout, clutch fork and fork pivot and the 'shoulder bolt', fork insulator, clutch condition, etc.

Update:
I've just installed an Exedy Standard 6cyl clutch kit and oooh man is it good! Light and smooth, and it's actually shifting better with my short shifter stick. The heavy duty Clutch Industries unit I had was freakin' heavy and started hurting my knee joint. I can already tell my clutch cable is going to go the distance now. Cheers |

Well here I am again...
This cable has lasted 8 months...gives me the sh**s... At least I can feel it before it happens now. Clutch pull starts feeling lighter and more slack until it "pops". Makes me feel like converting back to flamin' automatic (shudder). |

Make sure there are no sharp edges at the insulator on the fork.
Also when fitting a new cable, lube that point with some thick Moly grease or Anti-sieze. Make sure the cable is adjusted properly too.
