hey all. i have recently attempted to change my brake pads on my ef and have snapped a caliper bolt off! my main problem is i have undone the three nuts that hold the strut on. and i can not get the strut off at all to replace it i have even stomped it to death. any help would be great. oh i have tried using the jack and with no stable are to work with that was a no go.

did you just unbolt the 3 bolts from the engine bay? - coz thats not the way to do it

i think u would want to remove the spindle assembly not the strut)

if you want to remove the spindle then you remove the top and bottom balljoint nuts and remove tie rod end nut too. then it will come out. the joints can take some bashing to get them unstuck

yeh stub axle is right terminology.

i used a big crowbar to lever the top balljoint out and used a balljoint removed for the lower one and tie rod (word of caution - do not use a balljoint remover fork unless u wanna fuk the joint! if you dont then you'll have to find another way to lever it without damaging anything
