One of my workmates has got an EL sitting on superlows and I've got my EF XR6 which still has factory suspension. Is it possible we can both just do a straight swap over with springs or will it make the shocks out of tolerance.
He wants his car higher and I want mine lower. Basically we are both only really going one level higher/lower than before. It'd be a great way to get my car lowered without it costing anything. |

You can do this, but you would just have to see how your shocks go, you may cause one or more to weep because they will be compressed when just sitting at the new ride height. Plus it will be a little harsher than if you had new shortened shocks to go with the Superlows.
I'd still swap them over for sure though... |

My shocks are 11 years old now cause its still factory fitment. They are stuffed regardless.
What about my mate who has shortened shocks and they will be extended by my springs? |

I'm not sure about yours friends shocks, but i couldn't imagine that they wouldn't work with springs that a bit higher...
If your springs are just the standard XR fitment, then youmay as well give the new springs a go, as the shocks are probably up to their use by date anyway. |

Yeah they are a bit stuffed at the moment. I was just curious as to what happens with the shock travel or lack of it for me sitting on lower springs.
Also for my mate who will have his shortened shocks extended by the taller springs. |
