ey, so ive got an el with 141 000km, i am pretty sure the suspension is up s**t creek, on account of the cars a lil rocky on the road(tends to bounce around alot more than before). plus when you come into a corner fast it tips up a looong way.

so the car takes bumps alright, she rarely bottoms out (except on BIG speedbumps), this is a higher speed/turning fast problem.

do u reckon putting a set of king springs will help this problem??
well i wouldnt call it a problem but its a pain cos when ya try to drift around a corner it kinda tips to far, whereas it used to slide, it tends to tip and hold grip. if that makes any sense.

well, yeah whateva!!
thanks!!!

lower it, a set of kings springs with shocks to suit will get rid of the majority of it, other than that, look at gettin a bigger swaybar.

i wasnt sure about lowered suspension and insurance. I rang NRMA today and explained i had a 1997 EL falcon with dead suspension and i wanted to replace it for 'improved handling' tho its the looks im more into...and i wanted lowered king springs, not the super lows just normal lows...and they said as long as its not below the legal height it will not effect my insurance at all. How awsome aye??!! i had no idea, this is the only reason id held off so long...sounds like a job for next week now :D lol i know how to do it just gotta get a set of spring compressors...last set i used wernt mine :( they r only like $20-30 right?

NRMA states that you can not go lower than 1" below factory which is why I do not have superlows.

As for springs improving stiffness, it will to a certain extent however it is the shocks which is meant to absorb the impact of hard hits. Good cheap shocks are KYB.

How much ground clearance do people get with their Superlow setups?
I think ill lean towards something in between Superlows and Lows for the FBT to be honest - she handles and rides amazing but is too high for me!

just after a few show of hands here.

Who with LOWERED (NOT super lows) King springs has a camber kit?

Just addding lows and new shocks to my car and all i intend upon doing is getting a wheel alignment at the end of it. I've heard mixed results. I know with super lows its a must but with lows apparently its optional...?

if u get the springs/shocks, install them yourself, and then take your car in to a place for a camber kit and wheel alignment, $1000 will cover it for sure.

I just bought the following.

Low king springs all around
2x Struts - munro gt premiums
set of shocks...same as above

$487.85 from repco.

I didnt need a camber kit, i doubt anyone with just lows would until the springs sag.
