Hi,

I have a AU II 2001 LSD Ute supercab.... I am trying to get it trained over to WA from Sydney,
Part of the measurements/requirements on putting it on the train is that it has a clearance of 13cm...

I tried to measure on a rough basis thinking if i could drive over a Can of coke (12.5cm) i should be ale to get on the train...Unfortunantly it didn't make it over with the can still standing...

From what i can measure at the lowest point i think i have a clearance of about 8cm.... I know it scrapes on most speed bumps.

I Don't know what shocks or springs I have on the car as it was already modified before i bought the car. From a Repco invoice (2002) found I would imagine it is a Kings Lowered coil spring set (Part # KFFL-57) and a Falcon AU Ute Low RE (part # FOR803).

Does anyone have any idea's on a relatively cheap way to raise it up for a short period? or will i just have to get new suspension done at the next height up?

for the back you could put a couple of bottle jacks in between the diff and the body, might bend something though

lowering blocks in the rear? if so take them out, as for the front, you could try a coil spacer?

Just remember that whatever you do to raise the car, it will be riding on that for the entire trip. I have seen race cars damaged while on the train from east to west, and the other way.
It may pay for you to find a 2nd hand front shock/spring assemblies, in std height, and just throw them in for the trip. Not a big job. For the rear, remove the blocks if you have them, or you may have to fit a set of stock leaf springs to get you out of trouble.
Also, remember that anything you pack in the car will have to survive the trip, so make sure it is secure. And, the railway guys will be driving your car on and off, so make sure they cant hurt anything.
It may be easier to just drive the thing over, whats a quick 5000km trip between friends..
