Ok guys...i was gonna continue my old thread but it doesnt really refer to what i want to know.......

What I've (potentially) got is a ED XR6 rear end and tailshaft.

Will this fit straight up to my EA fairmont GHIA, not worried about the ABS setup...but just the control arms, spring mounts, and watts linkage (anytihng else that could potentially be different)?

thanks..

it will fit..
the only issue you will come across is where the lower arms mount to the body.. ea have narrower bushes.. so you can either grind the inner spacers from the body of the ea so the ed arms fit.
or you use the ea lower arms and use large washers or spacers to fill in the gap where the narower ea arms bolt to the ed diff.

other than that just use the ed tailshaft and your away....

edfairmont4.0 used spaces, we never had a problem mate

Does the ed xr6 have the 3.45LSD?

If you want the ABS to work, just get some axles with the sensors fitted (I think EA Ghias were 25 spline, so they won't fit the XR6 diff (hopefully ur new diff has the sensors fitted)

yeah i dont have ABS in my car so not gonna bother with it. can i just remove the abs discs and put my EA discs on it?
Its off a auto XR6 and i got a manual..will my tailshaft be suited rather than the xr6 one?

Yea, I wasn't sure if EAs had ABS, the sensors on the rear on the axles, front sensors are on the discs.

IIRC there are different tailshaft to diff bolt setups, but I think the change was between ED and EF, so you should be right, someone will confirm this for you. (But since you have the tailshaft that matches the diff, no worrys :D)

Thats a great price for a XR6 3.45 LSD with tailshaft and speed sender.

U'll notice the differance since EA autos were 2.77, 2.92 or 3.08s

The tailshaft is a straight fit. I have an EBII tailshaft in my EAI. I have the flange on too.
The EBII was an auto and my EA is a manual.
