Hi,
heard alot about whiteline sway bars and changing them and what ever. does it really make that big of a difference? how do they help? tyre wear? i know a few ppl here have an aftermarket set so what do they think? any different brands? prices? Cheers

Uprated swaybars will make the car do what you'd expect: it'll ride flatter around corners. You need to be careful tho because hardest isn't necessarily better as far as achieving best cornering speed - for that reason IMO it's best to get adjustable ones so that you can find the best compromise for your suspension setup - also you can then dial in the balance you prefer - ie. I run relatively soft rear bar setting compared to front.
On the road, oddly enough the "harder" the setting, the softer the ride (slightly) - I guess the harder the setting, the more the two sides help each other out. Oh, keep in mind I'm speaking from experience with a setup that includes Bilstein shocks here - ie. they have a fairly advanced variable valving system that probably contributes to that "softening" effect.

I'm not endorsing their prodicts or service, but it explains how to make an E series handle. Stiffer bars reduce the roll, but also increase the grip at the opposite end of the car (particularly the opposing corner to which the weight is trying to transfer). As stated above, don't go too stiff at either end, because it will adversely affect the balance & grip. Too stiff on the front will help rear grip, but understeer from sacrificed front grip. Vice-versa for the rear bar. Adjustable is great if you know what you are doing, but uprated front & rear bars, pre-matched from a manufacturer, will present good value & should provide a safe mild understeer balance.

i bought a set of the whiteline adjustable swaybars about a month ago an today i finaly got around to puttin the front in whilst some new struts had to go in, an i must say it certainly feels more sports grips better around corners an feels more resposive, really it just does what youd want and expect a car to do cept in a near perfect manner

yeah, i have a full whiteline kit in mine, just the solid bars, not adjustables. its brilliant, cause the swaybars keep the car flat through the corners, letting the springs soak up the bumps. so you end up being able to corner faster and be more comfortable!! win win!!

was around $1300, steady ED got the same for his cost a bit less through autobarn.
he fitted his own, and in hindsight, i proly could have too. im sure if you PMed him, he'd be happy to go into a bit more detail |

I'll go into detail now
I didn't get the full 'kit'. Just shocks, springs and bars. I just ordered new springs and different bars through Autobarn last week. Whiteline 'Flatout' (superlows) were 280 for a set of 4. 30mm Front is 170 22mm adjustable rear was 220 i think. Bad bit, you WILL have to wait f**k ages to get your parts. 4-5 weeks for springs. Why, I have no idea, but if I han't already had there stuff in my old car, I wouldn't be getting it. But their products are good.
