I have my gearbox out atm as im just about to do a rebuild on my 4litre and turbo charge it. I was hoping that maybe some members on here would be able to give me some clues onto what type of mods/checks i can do on the gearbox while its out. So far all i can think of doing is polishing the entire box for presentation purposes, and getting a billet quick shifter. Wat about oil? does that make a difference? anything else i can do? cheers ppl

Ditch the T5 if your 'seriously' going to turbo it.
It'll cost you more to strengthen it, than to replace it with a stronger unit.

But then again I'm not talking from expirience, I guess if you mothered the box It will hold upto the job,
But who'd spend 5K+ to turbo the engine and not be able to use it?

Oil?
Redline shockproof is good...or SO called the BEST.
But I wouldn't say its going to help.

All in all... the T5's in a turbo application are a costly choice.

you could always slap on some cheese cutters to stop the load on the box?

yeah either use an auto or prepare to pull it out and get a t56 box and take the 8k bill to do the job. much easier to use an auto if money is tight

Get a V8 T5, it will make a difference. I believe Pyroay ran his T5 to some pretty big numbers.....
