Not sure about the T5 boxes personally. But a T56 Tremec 6 Speed would defintely be able to handle that power.

You'll probably break it, a reco wont help though as the case itself flexes.
Save up and throw a T56 in it when it pops.

Ride: EL XR8 363 stroker

Power: 260 rwkw

I'v got a Gforce t-5 going behind my el xr8 363 stroker, and il be making alot more than 250rwkw.
The key features of the Gforce t-5 is the aftermarket transmission case(which stops flexing), upgraded main shaft, 26 spine input and strong gears. And the best part about the Gforce box is you simply swap it over without mods.

Geforce T5 is ur cheapest option for upgrade then u move on Tremec series boxes like the T56 and Malwood can help u out with conversion.

As the Aussie dollar is so good right now u should look into ur trans options as u can get both from the states.........................

Sell ur T5 as a conversion as at least u get some money back instead of breaking it.

Something like this except the starter is on the R/H side.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Tremec-T ... ccessories

I've seen T56's go for about $1500 in the US. Get it to someone exporting cars from the US and it should be a couple of hundred maximum to bring back in a container.

You also have to consider importing duties $300?, brokeage costs $200? and delivery $100? (if not picking up the goods your self). So your $1500 (if your lucky) for a second hand t56 witch the condition is unknown will end up being more like $2100 then your shipping costs $500? total est $2600. then you have to get a custom bell housing $600?, Decent clutch $1500?, hydrolic clutch set up $800?, custom tailshaft $600?, new starter $325?, billet steel flywheel $500?, crossmember to suit $125? and theres always a few little thing to make it work. sor your looking at $4450$ Total for a seconhand t56 $7000?.

Or you could call malwood and chuck a good 9 grand out your wallet.
The T56 magnum is a great 6 speed and with a 700ft lb rating it will hold almost any street engine!

New T56 Magnum with ratios of 2.66,1.78,1.3,1.0,.80,.63 built to suit the EB-EL application $5800
New Tremec Bellhousing $770
New sandwich plate $75
New starter $325
New ACE 11’’ Billet steel flywheel $495
New 11’’ High Performance clutch kit $890
New ARP flywheel bolts $75
New pedal pin kit $105
New Under Dash Hydraulic set up $790
New Braided line $160
New mount $43
New crossmember to suit $125
New gearstick $120
New gearstick knob $65
New slip yoke $175
New Floor Panel and Boot $45
New Console Insert $85

Locally?

I think this one was down in Vic? I almost bought it.
Dunno why youd bother with a G force, its still a 5 speed, and unless 3rd cog itself is larger you can still strip it.

All gears are larger and are made from high nickle. and with the billet aftermarket case third will not budge with case flex.

Becuase even a G-Force box will strip 3rd after it's been given enough. Go TKO or T56!
