G'day guys....I think its time to change my gearbox oil.

Now, coventrys says that the normal power steering oil or auto trans oil is the way to go but is their another product thats better for a modded car?

ie something made by redline?

"Lubrizol 7906". Most parts shops should have it.

Cheers fellas...
so there's no point getting the expensive redline stuff for the T5?

you can if you want, but theres no real point though. The T5 isnt the most advanced gearbox in the world. I just use the normal stuff plus a bit of additive and its a treat.

redline MTL is good have run it in my 5 speed with no probs,
but recently got car serviced and found out ford had changed out the gearbox oil to ATF, now its noisey as with whining gears, so add lubrizol 7906, mad no diff with noise but has made it a little easier to shift.
Im going to drain out the ATF s**t ford put in and put MTL back in with 7906.

Penrite aslo made a gear oil to suit these gear boxes as well, might be cheaper?" penrite extra light gear oil 75, have a look on the penrite website.

Hope this helps.
