will it start for set up purposes with the auto ecu?
If you're referring to an auto/manual change, yes it will, but you need to join the starter relay wires at the inhibitor switch to motor it over.
The engine will idle high (around 1200 rpm), and EF/El's will have the thermo fans roaring.
Otherwise the car will drive.

you can trick the ecu. there are threads on this throughout fordmods and even on fordforums aus...
I did it to the ef, but I couldnt stand the rotten idle quality it had..
I tricked the ecu into thinkiing the auto was in neutral and was at operating temperature, but it never ran spot on.

I'm not going to even try the Auto ECU in the car, as i don't want to hack the auto wiring loom up to " trick " it to work with the manual, it needs to be used in another car, the wiring & auto ECU.

I've been on a road trip this w/e, went with g/f's bro to pickup a torana in sydney, just got back 2 hrs ago. Have not played with the ford for a couple of days now. Will go thru some cluster wiring, there may be an issue there causing gauges to read incorrectly.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

I had my JMM Interceptor hooked up for the first time yesterday arvo, and find out my tacho is out. I had the tacho recalabrated 7yrs ago, so now I know its out. 500 rpm on tacho is in reality is 750 +/- 40.
So, I'll have to work it out now as to what it should be.

Shiite!!

As tempting as 3.7/3.9 gears are, i couldnt have my motor revving its nuts off at cruising speed. What kinda revs is it doin at 110km/h?

Ouch! That would have to chew thru fuel, but i'm sure it would jump off the line quickly.

I've got all my electrics sorted, i'm sitting on 2000rpm for a " real 100kms ", and 1950 for what my speedo is showing as 100kms. Much better.

Cheers

Dunno, my tacho may be out due to custom guage faces. Speedo's spot on though, found that out a couple of weeks ago when the hairdryer got pointed at me.
