NVH is where the MGW really shines.

Mine seems to depend on which gear knob I use, I have an all leather Momo and a supercheap leather one that are quiet enough but my ELGT style Momo one that's half leather, half wood definitely transfers more NVH. But it looks and feels sweet!

I had the cheap one from usa on the ed and a b&m on my au xr8 and both have same pivot points, hence the reason I ditched them and now using the factory one with modified handle.. not to mention the nvh transferred through the billet shift was driving be nuts..lol

I have a Billet short shifter and it is a shorter throw than with the original shifter....It still uses the original stick.....it isn't noisy either, no NVH.

The ELGT style uses 3 grub screws to secure it doesn't it? That will be why it's noisy.

As in my pictures above, I have a MOMO Anatomico wood gear knob. It had the 3 screw attachment but I cut it off and by using one of the rubber sleeves that came with the knob I was able to just screw it on the thread. So that mostly isolates any sound transmission.

The white ball knob has an internal M12 thread and a lock nut so it is jammed up nice and tight with no chance of vibration to add noise.

Yeh it does use grubs, but so do both the other quiet ones? I'd be interested to try one with a thread though. M12 eh? Good to know.

This is where my ball knob came from. http://www.epcoshiftknobs.com/rallystripe

I haven't tried it yet but I think a piece of 9-10mm fuel hose would work. Just shove it up the knob and screw it on. As the thread screws in it jams the rubber in tighter and is a solid fit.

All the ones in the eBay links are the same unit, some had silver instead of blue extension arms. ?

I have one of them and it works sweetly.

Id just go for the cheapest one.

Same materials, same design. easy to install, (theres info on my build thread when I installed it)

The other versions shown on here do look damn horny though.. but essentially 6/half dozen..

You'd think that but you be wrong.

Pro5.0, steeds tri-ax, rip shifter, MGW, etc. are in a league of their own. I, and quite a few others, just happen to think MGW is the top of the leaderboard.

Spend the extra $150 odd for MGW and you'll understand what quality is.

Haha...

After reading this that's exactly what I've ordered... Knob and all...

I just ordered the race handle without the bend but as it'll sit better in my console...

Will see what differences I get from the cheap eBay one I've had fitted for years... Never given an ounce of trouble but...

Cheers,
Tim
