Hmm this could be it my lower arms have quite worn bushes and do move around alot, had i play with them when the diff was out. Out of interest how much did new ones set you back? My top ones didnt cost too much if these are priced similarly ill definatly grab a set. Should these have much movement? Because my upper arms barely moved from side to side but lower ones i dunno i can probably push em around close to 20-30cm each way...

in one of my cars years ago i lowered it excessively and had the same problem i had to get my tailshaft re balanced

Yes i will be asking him tonight... Tailshaft balance hey... hmm so many things to try. Mine doesnt seem to vibrate at high speed so i might do that last.

do your control arm buhes first......i changed my tailshaft, and put new shocks & springs in....that done nothing..as soon as i replaced those bushes the tailshaft stopped hitting straight away.....

yea thats wat i reackon mate i dont see quite honest how shocks and so on will stop the diff and tailshaft moving so much that it hits... its not like the thing bottoming out its more to do with the diff or tailshaft moving.

hi
ihad the same issue with my ea when i fitted a ed xr6 diff and a el tailshaft after putting nolathane bushes.. still didnt help. i hammered the floor in . that didnt help. the only thing that stopped it was.. i used the narrower steel tailshaft and flange from the ea and it hasnt hit since.. but you may not want to go that way!! |

onece you figure the problem out, definately a good idea to get the tailshaft balanced as it porolly isn't if it'sbeen scraping, might of knocked a weight of or anything funny like that, better to playit safe!

It does make a difference. remove your rear shocks and manouvre you car around and it will bounce and wiggle like you wouldn't believe. the shocks are there to dampen any sudden force opposing it. different shocks have different characteristics. i'm not saying that your shocks are at fault, but not being the correct ones could be the reason or part of the reason to why your having this problem.

get the bmp stop above the diff. i had an xr6 wagon and it used to chew the bump stop out esp. on a long trip if it was loaded up but at $25 to replace it was worth it because at std height they look terrible.

I really cant be bothered repeating myself yet again yes i will buy shocks but i cant afford them! But im fairly sure in the short term they arent the prob car never bottoms out i mean never! This tailshaft prob has something to do with the driveline moving around otherwise the tailshaft would hit when i hit bumps and large dips in the road which it doesnt.
