Hence so under acceleration or a heavy load the diff will bottom out on the bump stop before the tailshaft hits the floor. Correct, perhaps bump stop is not the correct term?

i had that problem, nolathane fixed it & i have noo bump stops whatso ever diff or other.
koni shocks, pedders springs & full nolathane doesn't move much. when i get time i'm going to machine up some brass bushes for the sway bars because the nolathane ones keep blowing out.

i believe its just called a diff bumpstop... ford have a computer system which has detailed pics of each bit of car displaying part numbers. i have seen it. so they should be able to get the view from under the diff and see it there. its right on the center above the center of the diff

It could also be called a "Pinion Snubber" or pinion bump stop. Make sure the parts guys understand what you need, they should be able to show you a picture of it.

Ok replaced shocks and added the 'diff stop'.
Accidently ordered 2 of them so have one spare but fixed the problem. Haven't tried full car yet, but so far so good. |

I ordered a " diff stop " this morning from Ford after getting my exhaust fixed up by Blitz custom exhaust. I should be able to fit it next week, but for anyone who cares, the diff stop is part #38 on the ford rear suspension parts screen & #39 is the screws/bolts to fit it. #39 is discontinued, so bunnings will have to help out there.
Cheers ToranaGuy

My car didn't originally have it fit from the factory, there are no bolts there to reuse.
I have a tap kit, i can tap the holes to any thread & size i want/need. Cheers ToranaGuy

Std height suspension just doesn't need it. Cheers ToranaGuy
