I had the same thought...however, i have always wondered why a hub like this wasn't designed before.
I mean bigger brakes have been on peoples minds for a long time and this is a simple solution. (excluding the engineering part). But it seems to me that this method may be the easiest/most viable to get engineered and ADR approved. any thoughts... I am keen to know about this... Thanks in advance |

It looks to be UPC that are selling them, which are a reputable business.

Interesting way to get a hook to set.
You'll still need to modify uprights, and purchase calipers and rotors. There's a lot more to a brake upgrade on an E-series than hubs. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FALCON-BIG-B ... 27d0499b14 |

@MAD....why would i need to modify the uprights???? is this so that i can mount the correct caliper?

Hmmm...not sure whether i like the sound of that.....i don't like the idea of cutting and drilling on parts that are critical in stopping my car... looks like UPC's Big Brake upgrade may still be the goer...
i guess the only reason i havent bought a set yet is because, I want to know for sure that they will last.... has anyone used these on track? |

This set makes no sense as MAD said... What is here is useless for a big brake kit...
What I was leaning towards was that this was a way you run std brakes but get AU offset for AU onward wheels... You'd have to email the seller... It isn't a big brake upgrade, just and offset changing package... Otherwise yeah, like MAD said it's useless without modified uprights... Still confuses me as to why and what is it they're trying to sell... Surely not big brakes but... Also, nowhere in the listing does it mention big brakes so this was the other reason I was leaning toward an offset changing kit for std brakes... Cheers, Tim

The UPC upgrade has cut and drilled uprights.
It's the only way to have big brakes on an E-series. As long as it's done right, it is not a danger. |

They are from UPC. If you note now, you will see thet the listing has been removed.
At $570, plus you need to buy rotors $200, and Calipers (VE) $85ea (Used Ebay), you are up too $940 plus postage, then you need brake lines and Pads. Also then you need to mod the uprights. The UPC Big Brake kit is $1299 + Post. Complete kit ready to go, you just need the wheels, Better value for money if that is the way you want to go. |

UPC kits you can get on sale for 8/900$$ you have to keep waiting on there eBay store
As well how to the UPC kits go with abs ? Cos my mate was the kit with no abs and he is always locks up
