Hi

Just wondering in a ef/el looking to replace rack ends and tie rod ends and boots and wondered what tools you need to undo the power steering rack ends and tie rod ends and how you do it in a ef/el

If anyone could provide answers soon as possible that'd be great

Thanks

Once you remove the boot you will see a locking tab bent over the knuckle nut.
Simply release the locking tab by bending it back straight, then find the appropriate size spanner and undo the knuckle and the same for both sides.
Note: when replacing the tie rod ends count the number of turns and put the new ones back exactly the same amount of turns then you will be somewhere in the ball park of alignment.

You will require a 32mm spanner or if you don't have one a decent adjustable should suffice, Once you have released the lock tabs it should not be overly hard to undo. They undo anticlockwise (normal thread) if you do find it hard to undo give the end of the wrench a tap this generally helps.
When fitting new ones do them up reasonably firm and bend over your new lock tabs.
You should be able to do both sides comfortably in a couple of hours.
I hope this helps.
