Well my car just ticked over 310,000km & i've decided to replace the OEM springs & shocks.
I want to go with king springs (KFFL-29) & i got a price of $169/pr - sorted I am thinking either koni or KYB for the shocks but i'm not too sure which ones would go best with the kings. I will also need to get a camber kit to shove in there as well. I went down to pedders 2day & they tried to tell me it was going to cost $1000 for the front only. Bloody rip if u ask me Changing the springs and shocks are easy to change but how about the camber kit. Or would it be easier to get the stuff & let my mechanic do it for a slab or 2.

$169 for a pair of King Springs is a little pricey. They cost most stores around the $80 per pair mark.
Usually $100 -> $110 trade and $110 to $125 RRP. So I'm sure you can haggle a little. Kyb shocks are OK for the $$$. Although I would probably go for simple Monroe's if you arent after the great handling aspect. I've witnessed/heard a few complains of the rear Kyb's. Dont last long, and are very harsh. Koni are pricey, but will last forever if they are the adjustable ones. From memory, I did my dad's NL suspension for $330 with King Lows and Monroe shocks. Installation would probably add $200 or so if you opted for someone else to install it. A ratchet adjustable camber kit will add $200 + installation and wheel alignment costs. |
