I was putting my auto in the other day and noticed that the spigot on the converter was broken off and left on the crank shaft.
Is it possible to get it rewelded and re balanced in the centre?
I really dont wanna go and spend money on a new one as this one has only done about 20,000kms?
Anyone work in an auto shop that can verify this plz?

My first thought was that if the torque converter is bolted to the flex plate with the other three bolts, and the loose spigot is bolted up to the flex plate as well, oriented so the welds line up with where they were, it would be safe to add some more weld. But then i realised the extra weld would unbalance things. If perhaps the old weld was ground back and a new weld added of similar size to the original, the balance might be close enough, but it might not be.

As you say a professional opinion is probably what you want.
