i've just brought a au and the torque convertor isn't locking at all so sits on about 2100 revs cruzing at 100k, is there a simply reason y this is or can i simply make a bypass switch or anyhting if its in the computer?

Could be stuffed torque converter, or lock solenoid is cactus.

has it got 3.45's?
I've been driving in a BA that refused to go into 4th. and second... funny, its on its 4th tranny at 120,000

nope its a 3.08, so what should i do first go ahead and swap convertors, auto or can i do a test some how to cancel out some problems first?

is a eb convertor same as au, i have my auto box and convertor left over from when i changed my eb to manual so if it comes down to being the auto or convertor can i just use what i have?

This one would sit in 3rd for about 2-3 mins at around 80-90k's.
Dropped 3 trans in 2 yrs in qld, and one here. prolly the ecu after all this! :/

oh i forgot to mention that it is a ex taxi, in top condition only paid 1000 bucks registered, but just wondering if the lock up was disconected becuase of it being a taxi with the city driving, if this is the case would they have change the convertor or just messed with the wiring or something?

Soleniod S7 could be playing up but more likely to be the torque converter. Mine is doing the same when trans is hot, im changing the trans tomorrow.

do I read in top condition? obviously its not if the transmision is taking a dive. does it slip at all? I mean when its not on the highway doing 100?
